New iPhones for guards prove a great call

To provide a more reliable, better supported and more familiar tool of trade for phone calls and text messages, new iPhones have been issued to a number of guards, principals and trainers.

Replacing the older style phones, over 20 per cent of our guard group has now transitioned to the Apple device or are in the process of doing so.

The issuing of these devices follows feedback about the current phones, and is in keeping with crew asking for a phone that links with their iPad and provides them with real-time information in the palm of their hand.

Pawsome driver Paul rescues Flemington kittens

Cat-lover and driver Paul O’Flaherty recently became a cat rescuer at Flemington Maintenance Centre (FMC) when he helped rehome a family of stray cats at the depot.

Over the last few weeks, Paul has worked with a registered cat rescue, The Cat Sanctuary, to successfully trap and rescue three of the FMC cats – a mum and her two kittens. He’s continuing to help the cat rescue to safely trap the remaining cats.
