The next important step in the rollout of Automatic Train Protection (ATP) took place on 3 July when the first two M Sets fitted with the system began revenue service in ‘BYPASS’ mode.
Designed to provide an additional layer of safety to customers and Crew, the system works by monitoring a train’s speed and position via small transponders located on the tracks.
The TC&S Mobility team is returning to depots to offer on-the-spot technology support.
