Supporting Indigenous Recruitment Success

Looking at our workforce, it’s clear that more can still be done to ensure our employees fully reflect our customers.

Only 0.7 per cent of employees within the Operations Directorate identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander compared to a 2.9 per cent* of the NSW population.

Transport for NSW has set a diversity and inclusion commitment to increase the representation of Aboriginal staff across the cluster, but a commitment is only as good as the actions to achieve it.

Seeing this gap and opportunity to make a difference, Emma Bunting, Crew Manager Flemington, and Angela Webb, Manager Aboriginal Employment, launched a pilot program to improve Indigenous representation within Train Crew.
